Anup Kumar De, Head Master
It is an honour & privilege to be the Head Master of Jhargram Kumud Kumari Institution that stands for its excellence and continuously sets the highest standards in results of Madhyamik & Higher Secondary Examinations not only in the Jhargram Sub-Division but also at District and State level. The Institution has been functioning since, 1924 with its alumni looking back with fond memories and has given this country many distinguished, personalities and leader in different fields such as Reporter & Linguistic Lt. Nanda Gopal Sengupta, Reporter Tusar Maity, Singer Anshuman Roy, Gora Sarbadhikari, Footballer Pradip Chowdhury, Ex-Secretary of Planning Commission - Ex Prof. of C.U. Mr. Nitish Sengupta IAS an eminent economist and was Chairman of UN Commission on Transnational Corporations - Mr. Muktisadhan Basu, Ex-President of W.B.B.S.E - Mr. Dibyendu Hota, Eminent Surgeon - Dr. Sitanath De, Psychiatrist - Dr. Dibyendu Sarbadhikari etc.The 1st Head Master was Lt. Prafulla Kanti Ghosh and subsequently 4th & stable Head Master was Radhashyam Bose & 5th H.M. Satyendra Nath Malladeb. The 4th & 5th H.M. were awarded by the President of India & the 6th H.M. was Tusar Kanti Ghosh. The Institution is 90 years old and in 1957 the H.S. building was built up. Now the students strength is 1300. A new wing of Vocational Education in HLWK, EHMW & CAAM, MRED level has been running since 2006 with student strength of 150.
The students occupy the position many times in sports both in District and State level & also in National level (in Subrata Cup 1983). The 1st floor of the HS building is being built with the help of Ex Student & Paschimanchal Unnyan Minister Shri. Sukumar Hansda. The construction of building for Midday Meal is in progress. A toilet by the help of SSM is being built for both Boys & Girls (for vocational students).
The centenary year is knocking at the door. Many Ex-Students extend their helping hand for development of their beloved Institution as a result of it the Institution will surely reach its goal very soon.
I am also fortunate to have an experienced and committed team, which has brought the school to its present stature. I, along with my team of silent workers and dedicated faculty, intend to build on this strong foundation and raise the standards in all spheres. My aim is not only to be an able administrator but also to be a friend, philosopher and guide to students one whom they can count on and trust at all times. I assure you that my doors will always remain open to the students and their parents for any suggestion or guidance.
